An IPO or Initial Public Offering is when a private company gets listed at the Philippine Stock Exchange and offers its shares to the public for the first time. A private company usually sells its shares to the public in order to reach more investors and to raise more capital for expansion.

You can request for a subscription of shares via IPO during the offer period at the given offer price. Any shares given to you will be credited to your account on or before the listing date. There is no holding period for shares bought through an IPO which means that once listed, shares can already be traded publicly (bought and sold) in the market.
