So don't worry if the shares are still in your portfolio during the offer period. We will take them out after COL's tender offer period deadline.

Each tender offer will have what they call a tender offer period. This period can last for several days to weeks. The period gives a chance for shareholders to learn more about the tender offer as well as inform their broker of their decision. With COL Financial, we post and announce the offer period on the Home tab. At the end of the offer period, that is the only time we will take out the shares from the portfolio so we can prepare them for the selling transaction to happen on the cross or transaction date. At COL, our offer period deadline is usually earlier so that we can collate and prepare all the necessary requirements to do the tender offer on the shareholder's behalf.

To check the status of your Tender Offer:

  •  Go to your Portfolio page by clicking the TRADE tab then the PORTFOLIO link in the submenu
  • Click on the link View Tender Offer found at the right side of your Cash Balance
  • You will see how many shares you have successfully submitted for the Tender Offer under the Tendered Shares column

However, if your shares are still in your COL account after the deadline of the tender offer period then this would mean that your uncommitted shares were less then your subscribed tendered shares. This usually happens when you have an outstanding GTC selling order wherein your shares are already committed to a selling order. You now would need to sell this in the market yourself should you wish to proceed to divest your investment.
